10th Tawang Maitree Diwas Epitomizes 'The Strong Civil Military Relationship' in Arunachal Pradesh
Tawang: The much awaited Civil -Military Extravaganza began at the Hilly Town of Tawang amidst great Pomp and show on 28 November 2018. The annual Tawang Maitree Diwas is being jointly organized by the Indian Army and Tawang Administration November 28 to 29 to mark the rock-solid Army civil Relationship prevalent in the District and the entire Arunachal Pradesh.
The event was co-hosted by GOC, Ball of Fire Division and CM, Arunachal Pradesh is an ideal example of civil military bonhomie anywhere in the country.
The Celebrations began with the arrival Brigadier (Dr)BD Mishra (Retired), Governor, received by the CM, GOC, Tezpur Corps and GOC, Ball of Fire Division and Commander Tawang Brigade, amidst the presence of a number of other Civil and Military Dignitaries.
Welcoming all present on behalf of Indian Army and the Eastern Army Commander, Lt Gen GS Sangha, the Gajraj Corps Commander exhorted both Civil and military in Kameng and Tawang Sectors for excellent synergy and Bonhomie.
The CM in his passionate address appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army, other Security Forces and the Civil Administration in presenting an Ideal Model for the nation.
The Governor, Brig(Dr) BD Mishra addressed the large gathering on issues of National Security, Pride and ever-strengthening Civil Military bonding in Arunachal.
He also presented the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Citation to Tawang Brigade for being the cornerstone of Civil-Military relationship in Tawang.
On the sidelines of the event, the CM presented Unit citation to 6 GRENADIERS Battalion and individual citation to Subedar Sunil Kumar for his outstanding contribution towards Civil-Military relations.
The celebrations, beginning at 0930 hours continued all through the day including Military Drills, Displays, Martial Arts to include Kalaripayattu, Gayla, Malkhamb etc. The local School and College children and the vibrant youth stunned all present with their cultural and traditional performances packed with Patriotism and National Sentiment. Select Army Officers executed the Army awareness campaign addressing and interacting with the capable youth of Tawang.
The celebrations continue with same energy and vigour on 29th as well, being attended by the CM and GOC Ball of Fire Division. The people and Youth of Tawang are excited on the immaculate and excellent conduct of the Annual Event.
With the best ever Conduct of Maitree Diwas in the history of Tawang and Arunachal, 28 Nov 2018 gains prominence for the state.
