11 State Singers Qualify For Northeast Idol-2019

NAHARLAGUN: Altogether 11 singers from the State have been selected in the Northeast Idol (NEI)-2019 during the State-level audition organized by the NEI-2019 committee here on Saturday. The final contestants are Meenam Goi, Alar Dupak, Devokanta, Radhe yabyang, Likha Yari, Neelam Akom, Tony Paleng, Marpi Bam, Vicky Dolo, Jikke Bhai and Bijay Dorjee.
A total of 64 contestants from the various districts of the State participated in the audition. The 11 selected contestants will be competing with other singers from the north-eastern States in a mega audition, which will be held at Guwahati on September 14.
Speaking to the media persons, audition chairperson Nabam Amzi Tajo said, “It is a platform for the talented singers of the State to be exposed to the rest of the country. We are providing the platform to connect our people to the rest of Northeast,” she said, adding that this platform will also help in maintaining brotherhood and cultural exchange.
She also informed that all the other north-eastern States will be conducting the State-level auditions in their respective States on August 24. She also hoped that the programme will be a great success with the help of all well-wishers and supporters of the NE States.
The organizing secretary of NEI-2019 committee Tarh kin and the judges congratulated all the selected contestants for the mega event in Guwahati.
