26 rescued children brought back To Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: Bangalore-based Railway Childline run by Don Bosco and Childline Itanagar, in a joint operation with the Karnataka government and the police rescued and brought back 26 children to Arunachal Pradesh.

The children are in the age group of 4 to 13 years.

The handing over of the kids to their legal parents have been processed through the intervention of advocate Likha Asha, Chairperson of CWC, Itanagar and her team and circle officer Changlang, a press release informed here on Friday.

The children who made headlines in the last week of November last year, were identified by Railway Childline, Bangalore and were constantly counselled by them at a government centre.

The kids who were received by Childline, DBYC staff led by the Coordinator Peter Langpong, were duly assisted by Senior Superintendent of Police Kime Aya and Capital SP Tume Amo and his team including OC Itanagar police station and OC Women Police Station, Itanagar.

Advocate Asha rushed to DBYC Vivek Vihar where the children were temporarily received on Friday to finalize the formalities and at the time of filing this report, Childline DBYC, Itanagar is waiting for the arrival of the parents of the kids and civil authorities from Changlang to hand them over.

While interacting with the children, the staff of Childline Itanagar and other administrative and police personnel, Fr Cyriac, Director Childline DBYC, thanked Aya, Amo and his team and CWC Chairperson Likha Asha for all the effective help rendered even at very short notice.

JNK Public School Principal Shijoy Kurian was specially appreciated by all present for providing timely assistance in providing transportation for the children from Naharlagun Railway Station to DBYC residential training centre at Vivek Vihar here.
