3rd Kisan-Jawan-Vigyan Mela organized at Tawang

TEZPUR: 3rd DRDO Kisan-Jawan-Vigyan Mela was organized at DRL R&D Centre Tawang on September 30 as part of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Defence Research Laboratory, DRDO, Tezpur. Major events like a competition of farm produce, awards for progressive farmers, exhibition, Kisan Sabha, etc. have been organized.

GS Udawat, Commandant of 38th Bn SSB, Tawang graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Rinchin Leta, DC in charge of Tawang district and Col Dodhy, Dy. Commander of HQ 190 Mtn Bde, Tawang were the Guests of Honour. Dr B.J. Gogoi, OIC of DRL RDC Tawang welcomed the guests and gave an overview of DRL-DRDO activities in Arunachal Pradesh.

Dr Ajitabh Bora, Chief Mela Coordinator of DRL apprised of the aim of the Mela. Head of Agriculture & allied departments of Tawang district attended as invitees and subject experts. A total of 140 farmers participated in the event. Students from four schools participated in Science Quiz and Model competition. DRDO Kisan-Jawan-Vigyan Mela provided a ground for the interaction of farmers and jawans with scientists, which will help in fostering national integration among the villagers in the border region.
