ITANAGAR: The All Arunachal Pradesh Public Health Engineering & Water Supply Department Workers' Union (AAPPHE&WSDWU), in a letter to the Chief Engineer (Western Zone), Itanagar, has appealed to hold the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) to 80:20 ratio, which is already implemented by the State Government.

The union, in a press statement, said that many trade posts had already been created under PHE&WS Department but due to not holding DPC, most of the casual labours were facing immense problems to sustain their lives. Most of the senior casual labourers are on verge to superannuation without any benefits from the government, the letter added.

The union appealed to conduct DPC at the earliest for the greater interest of casual staff of the PHE & WS Department. The casual staff are always in service for 12 hours for the interest of the public, which the State Government has been ignoring. As per the State Government, every six months DPC is supposed to be held but unfortunately, PHE&WS Department has failed to conduct it till date, the letter further added.
