Itanagar: The All Arunachal Tribal Rural Panchayat Restoration Andolan Committee (AATRPRAC) served a 30 days ultimatum to the state government demanding immediate cancellation of non-APST members from the Panchayat Election.

Addressing the press conference at the press club today, Chairman- Maji Tayem asserted that many NON-APST people are holding various positions under Panchayati Raj in the districts of Namsai and Changlang district. He also claimed that the union has already lodged a PIL in the court for the same issue.

Further, Chairman also disclosed that the union has already submitted their representation to the Chief Minister demanding practical demarcation of areas with the categorization of Ordinary and Permanent Residents with ST, PRC as well as Election Rights of the Ordinary, Temporary and Permanent ST people in the areas of Diyun, Vijaynagar, Bordumsa under Changlang District and Lekang-I and Lekang-II in Namsai district.

He also sought action against State Election Commissioner District Election Officers, RO (Concerned) for allowing Non-APST to participate in the State Panchayat Election 2020 in various Zilla Parishad Constituencies of Namsai and Changlang.

Immediate rollback of the names of Non-APST candidates who have won the Panchayat election and are holding ZPM, GPM and GB posts in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Further, AATRPRAC also sought the Constitution of High-Level Committee to monitor and check the illegal ST, PRC attained by the NON-APST in the state .while questioning the ST status of Deputy Chief Minister, the union has sought inquiry and removal of Chowna Mein, as Deputy Chief Minister.
