Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Tourism Minister Jarkar Gamlin has urged the Adi Bori community members to preserve, protect and promote their culture through Dongin festival for the next generation.
Addressing the Dongin festival of the Adi Bori community at Aalo in West Siang district, the minister stressed on the need by the community members to work together to preserve its rich cultural heritage irrespective of barriers and religious differences.
West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan who attended the celebration, urged the community to upkeep their identity intact through such festivities stating that extinction of many tribes and cultures from the world was due to lack of promotion and patronage.
Chief Airport Terminal Manager of Indian Oil Aviation based at Dibrugarh Airport Adi Tabi in his deliberation dwelt on cultural promotion among the youths and exercise of adult franchise in a free and fair manner. President and general secretary of the Dongin festival celebration committee Tashi Yangi and Tabot Taring dwelt at length on the significance and mythological aspects of the festival, an official communiqué informed here today.
