A similar programme was earlier conducted by the NHIDCL at Hayuliang in remote Anjaw district — a hilly terrain located along the Indo-Chinese border.

The programme generated tremendous enthusiasm among the youths of far-flung areas of the district.

Meanwhile, DC Longding Bani Lego during his address encouraged the trainees to participate wholeheartedly and gather as much knowledge from the CIDC trainers as possible. He thanked NHIDCL for taking the initiative in such remote areas.

It may be added that the NHIDCL is an organization under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. It is mandated to develop roads and infrastructure in the remote parts of the country including the north-eastern States of India.

The CIDC was set up jointly by the Planning Commission (now NITI Aayog) and the Construction industry as an umbrella organization.
