ITANAGAR: All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF) has demanded the earliest completion of Pinjoli-Kimmi-Khuppi (PKK) road as an alternate road for the transporters travelling to the West Kameng, Tawang and East Kameng district.

Addressing the reporters at Press Club on Wednesday AAPPTF Kameng zonal president Barun Khaduju told that, due to the slow pace of work on construction of Bhalukpong- Charduar- Tawang (BCT) road the people, especially the public transport are facing lots of problems.

He informed that the people of trio district are dependent on neighboring state Assam for goods and medical requirements. But due to the non completion of the BCT road despite many approaches are creating various problems to the people.

Barun said, in this connection we had a meeting at DCs Conference Hall, Bomdila on 23rd August along with ADC Bomdila Bopai Puroik, administrator and commandant of BRTF, RCC, VRTAK and NEEPCO where the AAPPTF suggested to open the BCT road for transporter from 5am-5pm.

This time frame was suggested looking to the problems faced especially by the government transport vehicle. But to utter surprise the DC Sonal Swaroop has notified an order where the BTC road shall remain open from 5 am to 9 am and 2pm to 5pm.

“This is act of inhuman and we didn’t expect such childish action by the DC as she has never asked the AAPPTF or done homework on people facing problems due her actions, AAPPTF alleged.”

Barun also informed that the BTC road which was provided deadline of completion in year 2018 is yet not moved an inch. Almost 60 percent of the work is untouched and yet to be completed by the Border Road Organization (BRO).

He also alleged that the BRO has no man power, proper machineries and the capacity to complete the work in the time frame provided. The work which was allocated to BRO in the year 2010 and to be competed in the year 2018 has been extended again to 2021.
