All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union demands NIA probe on the ghastly killing of 11 innocent individuals including MLA Tirong Aboh
Itanagar: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) while terming the ghastly killing of 11 innocent individuals including sitting MLA Tirong Aboh on May 21 at Khonsa in Tirap district as “political murder”, has demanded a fast track investigation by National Investigation Agency (NIA) in a time-bound manner so that the perpetrators of the heinous crime are nabbed at the earliest.
In its central executive meeting held here on Monday, AAPSU shedding light on the precarious law and order condition in Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) region, said “When a sitting legislator can be gunned down in broad day light with full impunity without any fear for the law of land, it amply reflects the fear and duress under which common people are forced to endure with”.
The union opined “It is high time the State and Central Governments led by BJP with absolute majority this time around demonstrate strong political will to resolve the turmoil in TCL region once for all.” “The incident of unabated killing, ransom demand, extortion, taxing government employees from their hard earned salary by different insurgent groups and exerting a parallel system of administration is not new in the TCL region, which every successive government in the State and Centre very well know but has left the common masses to fetch for themselves in the hands of such non state players,” lamented AAPSU. The union demanded the government at the Centre and in the State to immediately evict all insurgency related activities in TCL region and secure it, a press release informed here today.
