ITANAGAR: The All East Kameng District Students' Union (AEKDSU), has called for 36-hour district bandh from June 22 over the non-fulfilment of their demands including permanent ADC for the district headquarter, filling up the vacant posts and posting of subject teachers.

Addressing media persons at the Arunachal Press Club (APC) here on Friday, AEKDSU speaker, Ajay Matam said that despite verbal assurance by the State Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to fulfill their demands, nothing concrete has come out. He also said that the union has served a seven days ultimatum demanding the same to the Chief Secretary last month. There has been no response to our demands, which has left us no choice but to go for a bandh call, he added.
