Anang Tadar receives National Innovator Award

Itanagar: Young innovator of State, Anang Tadar received the National Grassroots Innovator Award for his innovation ‘Smart goggles for blind.’

The award was presented by President Ram Nath Kovind during the Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship 2019 at NIF Complex, Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat recently, a press release informed here on Monday.

Tadar had invented a unique pair of goggles that uses ultrasound and infrared sensors to help the visually impaired detect obstacles on their path.

Earlier, the young innovator received the Dinanath Pandey Smart Idea Innovation Award and other awards from various organizations for inventing the unique gadget called Goggle for Blind (G4B).

This was the 10th National Grassroot Innovation Award ceremony and the four-day festival of Innovation, which started from 15 March, is hosted by National Innovation Foundation, an autonomous body under the Union Department of Science and Technology. Anang thanked NIF India, Department of Science & Technology and State Council for Science & Technology, for their support in his creative activities.
