ITANAGAR, July 4: Trans-Arunachal Highway Fact Finding Committee (TAHFFC) constituted by Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Wednesday demanded of state Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein to step down on moral ground from his post.

The committee alleged the Dy CM for chairing the minutes of the meeting held on June 11, 2017 in the matter of Right of Way (RoW) where it was reduced to 14 meters in the urban areas for Lower Subansiri District for the construction of Trans -Arunachal Highway (TAH).

APCC assessment committee refuted that in no way a Deputy CM of a state can chair the minutes of a meeting to determine the amount of land compensation for land-affected people under construction of TAH roads.

“It was under the advice and influences of Dy CM that former DC Kemo Lollen did not bother to follow the actual Details Project Report (DPR) while making false payment, added APCC assessment committee.”

The arrest of former Deputy Commissioner Kemo Lollen, former DLRSO Bharat Ligu and prominent entrepreneur Likha Maj on Tuesday is a plan of State government to divert the ongoing infamous issue of land compensation, chairman assessment committee Tamchi Tahar said.

Tamchi Tahar further added if the state government in true sense wanted to provide a justice to deprived and land affected people of Potin to Bopi and Joram to Koloriang under TAH, then the case should be transfer from SIC to CBI so that every individual involved in the huge misappropriation of fund could be punish.
