PASIGHAT: Apex Professional University (APU), one of the first private universities in Arunachal Pradesh, observed its sixth foundation day on Tuesday at the university campus here in a simple yet a glittering function arranged by students and faculties by recalling the efforts and hurdles faced by university in its journey so far.

The Apex Professional University based at Gumin Nagar, 2 Mile, Pasighat in East Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh was founded and established during the year 2013 after the Government of Arunachal Pradesh made an amendment in the Education sector and invited private universities to this frontier State. APU today offers various courses under four departments like the School of Law and Juridical Sciences, the School of Education and Social Sciences, the School of Health and Allied Sciences and the Institute of Research and Innovation.

“The University has 283 enrolled students with 47 teaching and non-teaching faculties and staffs of 47 who are working hard to give a parallel and high quality education to the students of this border State at par with the best universities of the country”, said Acharya Dhanwant Singh in a message.

Many students have expressed their gratitude to the university for offering courses like integrated BA LLB, Bachelor of Law (LLB), Master of Law (LLM) and other courses which were not offered in the State’s lone university. “If these courses were not offered by APU here in the State, we would have required to go outside the State to obtain the degrees thereby incurring huge financial involvement,” said Lungkang Ering, one of the Law students and convener of the APU Students Council.
