Itanagar: Police has arrested a 30 year old youth after he appeared to write an exam of Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) with his mobile phone at the Indira Gandhi Government (IGG) College exam centre in Tezu (Lohit).

The candidate has been identified as Hindonso Kri (30), a contractual teacher at the government residential school in Sarti, Walong in Anjaw district.

During the preliminary investigation, the phone of the candidate was seized and the person was arrested.

The APSSB exam was held at five locations in Lohit district, including the GHSS Tezu (375 out of 600 candidates), the GSS Tezu (238 out of 400 candidates), the GSS Telluliang (63 out of 120 candidates), the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tezu (129 out of 220 candidates), and the IGG College, Tezu (473 out of 850 candidates), according to the sources.

A total of 1,278 candidates took the exam in the five locations, out of a total of 2,190 who had registered.

During the exam mobile started ringing and at that time the invigilator at IGG College heard it. Later the phone was found form Hindonso Kri's possession. Soon he was detained and informed the police.

For the 182 posts of LDC, data entry operator, AFA (junior), laboratory technician, JSA, and record keeper/record clerk/computer operator, a total of 22,660 candidates appeared the exam.
