Army of Miao apprehends NSCN (R) cadres from Longtom village

JAGUN: Acting on specific intelligence inputs, Army personnel of Miao apprehended a cadre of NSCN (R) from Longtom village in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh at around 21:30 hours on April 20. The personnel also apprehended two other sympathisers of the outfit in this regard.
The apprehended militant has been identified as self-styled 'private' Khongkham Memai from the village of Longtom village. He was reportedly carrying out extortion with the help of two other sympathizers in the village.
All the three individuals with .22 pistol and magazine as recoveries were handed over to Kharsang Police for further investigations.
The operation by security forces is part of the major crackdown on insurgent cadres in the Tirap-Lohit-Changlang region. The militant cadres have beeen asked to either surrender or face the brunt of the security forces.
