Arunachal: 13 partygoers test COVID-19 positive after attending DJ Night

Guwahati: A DJ party in Arunachal Pradesh turned into a nightmare for attendees after at least 13 people who attended the event at Cozy Bar in West Siang headquarter Aalo reportedly tested positive for the Covid-19 on Wednesday.

As per reports, all 13 people who tested positive had gone for a picnic the very next day after attending the party. The owner of the bar reportedly developed COVID-19 symptoms and tested positive later on.

As per reports, unauthorized 'DJ nights' are being held without the knowledge of the administration. Last Saturday night also there was a 'DJ night' and a 'musical nite' in the vicinity of Cozy Bar, reports said.

On Saturday last, a 'musical nite' had been organized by the Bili Bolo Boys at the Numgo Rigo resort located near the Cozy Bar. The organizing member of the 'musical nite' informed that 46 people attended the party and that most of them were Canara Bank's staffers. All those who attended the event at the resort tested negative on Wednesday, he said.

The district administration has drawn serious flak after the report of the partygoers testing positive went viral. The district administration maintains that no permission was given to organize the DJ Nite and nor did the organizers seek any permission to conduct the event.
