Itanagar: In a significant boost to radio connectivity in the region, Akashvani's 100-watt FM transmitter in Basar, Lepa Rada district, is set to resume operations from February next.
The transmitter, with a coverage radius of approximately 15 kilometers, will cater to the entire Basar township and its adjoining areas, ensuring seamless access to radio broadcasts.
N. Ramanjanappa, Akashvani Cluster Head, Itanagar, emphasized the importance of this development, stating that the FM transmission would play a crucial role in keeping the local population informed about important news, government initiatives, and entertainment programs.
He highlighted that radio remains a vital medium of communication, particularly in remote and rural areas, where access to other forms of media may be limited.
The FM transmitter will relay Akashvani Itanagar's programs daily from 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM, providing a mix of news, educational content, cultural programming, and entertainment.
