BORDUMSA : Arunachal Pradesh BJP president Tapir Gao, as part of his ongoing 7-day tour programme to Tirap-Changlang -Longding (TCL) districts, would address party workers here tomorrow at Singpho Heritage Centre. State BJP secretary Tara Tarak would accompany Gao during the entire programme.

Gao, who was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha representing the Arunachal Eastern Constituency of Arunachal Pradesh, has been on his official tour since January 19.

Informed sources said the visit of the party State president ahead of the forthcoming Assembly election might have been designed to serve the two fold objectives of consolidating the party base in TCL and as a drive to secure popular support from the voters to get himself re-elected as the MP.

Gao has been reportedly working on an effective format to secure all 60 Assembly seats for the BJP beside putting himself up as one of the candidates from the Eastern seat for the Lok Sabha.

Amidst high anti-incumbency factors on one hand and a sharp split among the saffron brigade on leadership issues at Bordumsa in particular on the other, it would be noteworthy here to see how the president appeases the highly ambitious dissident groups and invade the NPP seat protected by a heavy-weight leader like Nikh Kamin- the present NPP MLA of 49th Bordumsa –Diyun with Singpho leaders like Lajala and several others acting as his shield.

Meanwhile, the ground zero reports here in Changlang District reveals that of the 5 Assembly seats conquered by the BJP in 2014 except for Bordumsa which is under NPP, Nampong and Changlang (South) posses imminent threat for the party following the recent exit of heavyweight BJP leaders from the party and merging into the Congress.
