LOHIT: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated several landmark infrastructure projects in the Lohit district to connect more areas, boost tourism, and protect the cultural and natural heritage of the region.

While visiting the Kamlang Tiger Reserve, Mein interacted with the forest department regarding a proposal to declare the reserve a Ramsar Site, a declaration by the Ramsar Convention to acknowledge wetlands of international importance.

This initiative testifies to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh's commitment to biodiversity and environmental heritage conservation in the state for posterity.

As part of this, Mein inaugurated a newly constructed guest house and the Tulow Resort at Parshuram Kund on the occasion of the beginning of the Parshuram Kund Mela-2025. These would serve the growing number of pilgrims and tourists visiting this sacred spiritual site. Mein emphasized that such initiatives would not only popularize the tourism sector but also set off the local economy with a plan to develop Parshuram Kund as a major center of pilgrimage.

Mein also opened the Glaw Lake Road and a steel bridge at Sena Brai. He was of the view that the natural vegetation and wildlife corridor should not be damaged during the development process of Glaw Lake as a trekking destination. He opened the new Wakro police station and promised to build up manpower and provide necessary instruments to carry out policing efficiently.

Lawmaker Dr. Mohesh Chai, MP Tapir Gao of Arunachal East, and other local leaders attended the inauguration celebrations alongside the deputy Chief minister.
