Itanagar: Arunachal State Town Planning and Urban Local Bodies Minister Kumar Waii while interacting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over digital platform provided by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), thanked him for approving two smart cities in the State. Modi on Thursday launched the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) for Itanagar and Pasighat in East Siang districts of the State, through remote control from New Delhi.

ICCC act as the nervous system of smart cities and uses digital technologies to enable the city administration with centralized monitoring and decision-making capabilities.

“We are committed to make the smart city programme a success in the State and the government will ensure to develop all the towns in the State on scientific lines by adopting the best practices,” Waii said.

“The initiative of the Centre to engage Bharat Electronic Limited (BEL) for setting up of the command and control centre will really help us in execution of the Smart City components at the ground at the earliest with all modern equipment,” Waii added.
