ITANAGAR: The COVID-19 tally in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 13,169, with 198 more persons testing positive for the infection during the last 24 hours. As on date, the State has 3,068 active cases. The State's toll tally due to Corona stands at 30. Meanwhile, 182 COVID-19 patients have been cured of the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 10,071 with the State's recovery rate standing at 76.47 per cent, said State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa.

Of the 198 new cases, 72 were reported from the Capital Complex region; 25 from Changlang; 21 from West Siang; 19 from East Siang; 10 from Tirap; eight from Lower Dibang Valley; six each from Upper Siang, LThe COVID-19 tally in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 13,169, with 198 more persons testing positive for the infection during the last 24 hours. Barring 35, all patients are asymptomatic and have been shifted to COVID Care Centres. Among the new patients are two State Police personnel and a health care worker from Changlang; besides 11 under-trial prisoners from the Jully Central Jail, near here, were also found to have contracted the disease.

The Capital Complex region — comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa — has the highest number of active cases at 1,441, followed by West Siang at 334, Changlang at 182, East Siang at 156, Tirap at 120, Papumpare at 118 and Lohit at 108.

As many as 2,89,502 samples were tested for COVID-19 so far, including 2,507 on Friday, added Dr Jampa.
