Itanagar: Blowing the poll bugle in his home district Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Saturday exhorted the party workers to stay in election mode and to gear up for the ensuing elections slated early next year.

Attending the BJP Mandal coordination meeting of Chongkham assembly constituency Mein, underscored the need to put in more efforts to better the coordination within the Mandal.

He said that the coming elections would be fought with Pema Khandu as the chief ministerial face and that there should be no confusion on that front. He further informed that the BJP state unit president Tapir Gao would contest as the party candidate for Lok Sabha poll from Arunachal East parliamentary constituency.

Dwelling on various central and state schemes the deputy chief minister said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the developmental landscape of the northeast has completely changed, a party release informed.

He said that if people invite him he is ready to visit any interior place to get a firsthand experience of the development needs and issues.

Speaking on the occasion party chief Tapir Gao emphasized the need to disseminate the programmes and policies of the central and state government so that the common men could benefit from the schemes.

Gao made it clear that the party and the government both at Centre and the state would not tolerate corruption and violators would be dealt as per law.

The BJP state chief also cleared the air regarding the National People’s Party (NPP) saying that the BJP has no alliance with that party and that it would go alone to fight all sixty assemblies and two parliamentary seats.

“The alliances with NPP in some North Eastern states were all post-poll alliances,” he said adding, though the party is under NEDA it does not amount to being political allies at all levels and stages, the communiqué added.
