Pasighat: Deputy Commissioner of East Siang Tayi Taggu has asked for all out-efforts for achieving 100 per cent target immunization for vaccine-preventable diseases and Covid -19 vaccination in the district after reviewing the status of Routine Immunization (RI) and Covid-19 vaccination during a meeting of the District Task Force on Immunization (DTFI) here on Wednesday at the Conference Hall of the DC's office.

The DC also reviewed the status and screening of non-communicable diseases (NCD) during the meeting.

Crediting the award for Mission Indradhanush received by the district as a testimony of everyone's hard work and team efforts to reach immunization target, the DC said that they should not become complacent on their laurels but work harder to ensure that every target beneficiary to the last mile is covered, thus ensuring protection of children, pregnant mothers and other citizens from various vaccine-preventable diseases.

The role of health care providers, including ASHAs, was reiterated during the meeting.

The first quarter DTFI meeting was attended by DMO Dr Radesh Tatan, Medical Superintendent Dr YR Darrang , BPGH of DDSE,Oduk Tabing, DD of ICDS Machi Gao, ASHA Nodal Officer Dr Nung Ratan, MO in-charges of CHCs, PHCs,UPHCs, ANMs and programme officers among others.

Earlier, DRCHO Dr Nidak Angu in his PPT presentation highlighted performance on vaccination sessions in BPGHs, PHCs and CHCs block wise.

The DRCHO stressed on proper micro planning and scrupulous follow up for achieving the vaccination target.

DPO of non-communicable diseases (NCD) Dr Tarik Talom presented a PPT on NCD screening & data uploaded status and informed about NCD Cell in Health Centres, population-based screening for NCD in every village, numbers Health Melas and free screening camps carried out by NPCDCS in first quarter of 2022-23.

He said 60 per cent of morbidity in India is due to NCD diseases like cancer, diabetes, stroke and cardio-vascular diseases.

Surveillance Medical Officer (SMO), Namsai, Dr S Victoria spoke about strengthening of routine immunizations by suggesting various action plans through prioritization and updating of micro planning, review of HMIS data entry and documentation, reorientation on routine immunization micro planning etc.

The SMO stressed on achieving the Central Government's goal of eradicating diseases like measles and rubella and active reporting and surveillance for 'AFP' cases (acute flaccid paralysis).
