PASIGHAT: In a bid to boost tourism development and air connectivity, the Arunachal Pradesh government is working with the Centre to upgrade the Advance Landing Ground (ALG) at Pasighat, stated the State's Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Nakap Nalo on Friday while holding a developmental meeting at Siang guest house near here.

The meeting was attended by local MLA Kaling Moyong, DC Tayi Taggu, SP Sumit Kumar Jha, host officers and leaders.

According to minister Nalo, Pasighat ALG was important to the country strategically and new trade, jobs, tourism and economic opportunities would be available in abundance after upgradation.

In connection with land acquisition at the ALG for development of Civil Enclave, minister Nalo sought whole-hearted cooperation from all corners and assured for central financial support for the purpose adding that once the project is denied, it will not come again.

He urged the local MLA and DC to complete the compensation process of affected families and further asserted that once the airport is modernized, air traffic from different parts of the country would be increased.

MLA Kaling Moyong said, "Pasighat being the oldest and centurion town deserves better air connectivity and we need to improve its quality to meet the demand. Tourist traffic will increase and once we have an upgraded airport." He put forth the grievances of the affected families and sought immediate compensation before eviction.

Civil Aviation Secretary, Swapnil M Nair discussed about the land acquisition with the district administration and officers and leaders and elaborated the importance of more land for better connectivity.
