ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra on Monday emphasized on quality of work and timely implementation of the developmental projects and schemes in the State.

The Governor said this when Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein called him at Raj Bhavan here and discussed about developmental initiatives of the State government, particularly under Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsava.

Mishra called for proper supervision and accountability of government officials in every project to ensure that not a single paisa is misused. The Governor, who has been keeping abreast himself of the important projects in the State, including Hollongi Airport, Miao-Vijoynagar Road, Trans Arunachal Highway, asked the Deputy Chief Minister to maintain the quality of works and ensure that the projects move forward as per the targeted time plan. He emphasized the importance of proper monitoring mechanism for every work and project.

Mishra stressed optimum showcasing of the freedom fighters of the State in the freedom struggle of India. He underscored that 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava' had given an ample opportunity to recognize and bring to front the unsung heroes of the state in the national scenario. "The State government and the people must exploit this opportunity," he said.

Earlier, Mein briefed the Governor about the works undertaken by the State government and Central Government agencies in the State.
