ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) K T Parnaik stressed on Friday the need to carry out preventive police actions to check crime and tackle unlawful activities including drugs, extortions, and kidnappings in vulnerable areas of the state. During a meeting with state DGP Satish Golchha, who called on him at Raj Bhawan, the governor advised him to strengthen the intelligence network, reach out to the youth of the state, and motivate them to join the police and armed forces.

The governor also urged the police chief to instill a sense of security among the vulnerable sections of society, especially in remote villages. Parnaik commended the DGP and his team for maintaining law and order in the state. He also conveyed his appreciation for the officers and personnel of the state police for successful anti-insurgency operations in Tirap and Changlang districts.

The governor also emphasized the efficacy of command and control and the proper integration of all available workforces. He suggested welfare measures for police personnel, particularly family accommodations. DGP Golchha briefed the governor about the law and order situation in the state as well as organizational issues, a Raj Bhawan communiqué informed.
