Itanagar: Corporators and officials from Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) led by Mayor Tamme Phassang recently visited key waste management facilities in Goa and explored innovative waste treatment solutions and technologies at Vasudha Waste Treatment Pvt Ltd and  Manohar Parrikar Integrated Municipal Waste Treatment Facility in Vandemol, Cacora.

The visit aimed at gaining firsthand knowledge of advanced waste management practices, including recycling techniques and sustainable waste treatment solutions, an official statement said here on Thursday.

Both facilities are known for their state-of-the-art operations and commitment to environmental sustainability.

Phassang lauded officials and experts of both facilities for their insightful presentations, saying the visit gave invaluable learning experience for the team.

“The knowledge and expertise shared by the professionals would guide our waste management strategies as we strive for a cleaner and more sustainable future,” he said. The IMC team stressed the importance of adopting innovative practices to tackle waste management challenges effectively.

The insights gained would play a crucial role in enhancing waste segregation, recycling, and sustainable disposal initiatives, Phassang said, adding the visit underscores IMC’s commitment to learning from successful models and integrating best practices into local governance to ensure a healthier environment for future generations.
