Itanagar: In a major milestone in Arunachal Pradesh’s connectivity journey, incoming cargo operations have officially commenced at Donyi Polo Airport here, via the passenger terminal on Thursday.
The inbound cargo services by IndiGo started on Thursday with the outbound operations to begin shortly, Chief Minister Pema Khandu informed in a social media post.
The start of the services will ensure faster delivery of essential goods, parcels, and business consignments directly to Itanagar.
It will support local traders and entrepreneurs with quicker, cost-effective logistics, Khandu said.
The chief minister said the start of the services will result in improved access to medical supplies, enhancing emergency healthcare response, convenience for passengers who can now receive cargo during their travel, boost to the local economy through efficient supply chain operations, reduced dependence on road transport, especially vital during monsoons, and enhance multimodal connectivity, positioning Donyi Polo Airport as a key logistics hub.
