ITANAGAR: Altogether six more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the virus tally in the northeastern state to 55,285, a senior health official said here Friday.

As many as 54,969 people recuperated from the disease thus far including, five on Thursday, said the official. The Covid death toll in the state remained unchanged at 280 as no fresh fatality was registered in the past 24 hours, said State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa. The northeastern state now has 36 active cases, he said.

The recovery rate among the Covid-19 patients remained at 99.43 per cent, while the active ratio stood at 0.06 per cent, the SSO said.

The West Kameng district has the highest number of active cases at 12, followed by the Capital Complex Region – comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas with 10, Tawang (7) and Lower Dibang Valley at four cases.

A total of 11,99,142 samples have been tested for coronavirus in the state thus far including, 322 on Thursday, Jampa said adding, the positivity rate stood at 1.8 per cent. Meanwhile, State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung informed that a total of 14,17,560 people have been inoculated so far in the state including, 2,904 on Thursday.
