Itanagar: The Arunachal Police detained a man in Itanagar for repeatedly raping his 14-year-old domestic worker. The offender, who lived in Yupia-III village, hired the Assamese girl in September, soon after his wife passed away, according to information provided by the police on December 13.

The police claimed that from that point on, he started sexually abusing her. She was able to leave the accused's home on December 11 and, with the assistance of someone she encountered, eventually contacted the Childline and Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

The culprit was taken into custody right away when the police received her complaint, according to Capital SP Rohit Rajbir Singh. The case remains under active investigation, with authorities committed to pursuing justice for the minor victim,” he added.

Earlier this year, just days after a teenager was brutally gang-raped in Nagaon, Assam, a young girl was allegedly raped in the district. On her way home with her younger brother, the girl was allegedly raped by two motorbike riders in Dhing, Nagaon district. She was reportedly raped after being forcibly transported to a remote location.

To find the two suspects, police have filed a case and started a huge manhunt. "The younger brother managed to run away and informed the local residents, who came and rescued the girl," a local resident said.
