Arunachal: Moyong begins tenure with visit to Golden Pagoda and grassroots outreach

ITANAGAR: Newly elected Arunachal Pradesh’s BJP president Kaling Moyong kicked started his tenure with a symbolic and strategic visit to Namsai district of the northeastern state on Tuesday. His visit began at the sacred Golden Pagoda, followed by a series of key meetings with grassroots leaders, signalling the party’s focus on organisational unity and development-led governance.

Moyong was welcomed by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, local MLA and party’s general secretary Zingnu Namchoom, district BJP president Ong Maio, and a large gathering of party workers.

The visit included a significant interaction with newly elected mandal and district presidents, aimed at reinforcing the importance of grassroots leadership, a party communiqué informed here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy chief minister extended heartfelt greetings to Moyong and praised the tireless efforts of BJP workers.

He emphasized the party’s achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and called upon karyakartas to serve with humility and dedication. Mein also lauded the success of Operation Sindoor, expressing gratitude to the PM for showcasing India’s strength.

Looking ahead to the upcoming panchayat elections, the deputy chief minister urged party workers to remain united and vigilant. He also shared that the Rising North East Summit has paved the way for investments exceeding Rs 75,000 crore in the region, projecting a decade of unprecedented growth and economic empowerment.

To further the party’s outreach, Mein proposed a series of state-wide programmes, including ‘Ek Pad Maa Ke Naam’, seminars on Operation Sindoor, digital exhibitions, Tiranga Yatra, Loktantra Hatya Diwas, and more, meant to reflect the vision and cultural values championed by the BJP.

In his remarks, Moyong congratulated the newly elected office bearers and emphasised the importance of publicising government achievements and welfare schemes through social media to enhance public awareness. Namchoom highlighted the implementation of key government schemes at the grassroots level and welcomed the announcement of the Caste-Based Census 2025, noting its cultural significance.
