Arunachal: Naharlagun Police Arrests 4, Including Cop For Peddling Drugs

Guwahati: The Naharlagun police team has arrested four people, including an IRBn constable, on the charges of drug peddling.

According to reports, the police acting on a tip-off, launched an operation and arrested an alleged drug peddler Sagar Das.

The arrested police constable is believed to be the kingpin of the cartel.

According to City SP Jimmy Chiram, after the arrest, the police recovered 9 grams of suspected heroin and some cash from their possession.

The arrestees have been identified as Constable Jumkar Lingu of 3rd India Reserve Battalion (IRBn), Sofirudin Ali, Asmot Ali (both residents of Laluk in Assam's Lakhimpur district) and Sagar Das, a resident of Naharlagun's B-Sector.

On being interrogated, Das apprised police that he purchased the drugs from one Sofirudin Ali and one Asmot Ali who is a resident of North Assam's Laluk.

They also said that they had purchased the drug from policeman, who was Jumkar Lingu of 3rd IRBn.
