Yupia: The District Health Society of Papum Pare district (Rural) in Arunachal Pradesh, on Wednesday launched the national De-worming Day (NDD) programme at the Health & Wellness Centre, here.
The initiative aims to deworm all children aged 1-19 years in the district, promoting better health and overall well-being.
ICDS deputy director Taba Jaya, inaugurated the programme, highlighting the importance of childhood health in shaping a child’s future. She emphasised that the formative years up to nineteen are crucial and that ensuring good health during this period must be a priority.
District medical officer Dr R Rina Ronya, in her address informed that the programme would be observed across all blocks of the district from March 24-28. During this period, school-going children including those in anganwadi centres, government schools, government-aided schools, private schools, and even out-of-school children, will be administered albendazole tablets and syrup to prevent worm infections.
