ITANAGAR: The Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) organized a mass rally on Thursday, reiterating its 13-point charter of demands from Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) to IG Park. Speaking to the media, PAJSC Vice Chairman Tadak Nalo said that the movement has finally completed a year, and therefore, the pending demands of the committee should be addressed by the state government immediately. The issue is not confined to the committee but is for the entire people of the state. He said that if the issue is resolved, it will be an achievement for everyone, and if not, it will be a collective failure. The people are well aware that if the issues are not resolved today, it will surely hamper the students in the future.

Nalo said that the committee has been trying to meet with the CM for a roundtable discussion. However, the CM has been making futile excuses to avoid the meeting. Moreover, the statement from the Chief Secretary is very clear: he is not the competent authority to deal with the matter.

Responding to the appeal of the Parents Joint Committee against Null & Void for a round table meeting, Nalo said that the PAJSC strongly believes that the meeting won’t bring any fruitful result. Rather, it is the state government that has the authority to bring a solution to it. “Every individual or group has his own right to support or oppose it. The committee has also reserved the demand for "null and void" for legal scrutiny. Moreover, the particular demand has caused a standstill in the entire movement and therefore overshadows the other crucial demands that deserve immediate attention,” he added.
