ITANAGAR: Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik on Tuesday underscored the critical role of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) in maintaining a fair and merit-based recruitment system, essential for strengthening governance and public administration in the state.
During a meeting with APPSC Chairman Prof Pradip Lingfa at Raj Bhawan here, the governor urged the Commission to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and efficiency in all its operations.
Prof Lingfa briefed the governor on the Commission’s functioning, the upcoming examination calendar, and various initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and transparency in the selection process.
Acknowledging the challenges in conducting APPSC examinations, Parnaik suggested innovative solutions to streamline recruitment, including leveraging technology, strengthening security measures, and adopting best practices from other state public service commissions.
He also emphasized the need to align examinations with the evolving demands of governance and administration.
APPSC secretary Parul Gaur Mittal was also present at the meeting and contributed to discussions on administrative and procedural improvements within the Commission, a Raj Bhawan communiqué stated.
