ITANAGAR: The All Nyishi Students' Union (ANSU) on Saturday appealed to the officials of the highway department to complete the construction work for National Highway (NH) 415, package B, which is from Papunallah to Nirjuli, under the Papum Pare district, at the stipulated time and without compromising the quality of the road at any cost.
Addressing reporters in a press conference held at the Arunachal Press Club (APC) on Saturday, ANSU Vice-President (VP) Tadak Lardak Murtem informed that its president had submitted a one-point memorandum to the state government regarding the slow pace of the construction of NH-415, package B, from Papunallah to Nirjuli, on 25 December last year.
Thanking the officials of the highway department for their swift response to the one-point memorandum, he appealed for early completion of work without compromising the quality of the road.
"ANSU shall stage a protest to deliver justice to commuters of the aforementioned road if the department fails to complete the construction without any quality compromising at the earliest," Murtem said.
Further, he informed that the union is in full solidarity with the All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) 3-point memorandum submitted to the Chief Secretary regarding the reinstatement of some officers allegedly involved in the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper-leak case.
Earlier, AAPSU served a 7-day ultimatum to the state government demanding immediate resuspension of all those restated officials, namely Tayang Gaduk, Head Assistant (HD); Iken Bagra (BEO); Radek Romin (BEO); and Posi Gamlin (BEO) under the education department, he added.
It also demanded public clarification from the Commissioner of Education for lapses of the concerned department in conducting a proper departmental inquiry into all those officials who are allegedly involved in the APPSC fiasco, while threatening to shut down the department if demands are not fulfilled, he maintained.
"Due to the carelessness of the authority in conducting/monitoring the departmental inquiry against alleged officials has led to restatement of those mentioned officials under the education department by the court," said Murtem while condemning the state government as a whole for failing to deliver justice in the APPSC paper-leak case till date.
