

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Sunday inaugurated a new dialysis unit at Khandro Drowa Tsangmu district Hospital Tawang in the presence of local MLA Tsering Tashi and DC Sang Phuntso.
The dialysis unit with capacity for five patients has been started under Prime Minister National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP), an official communiqué informed.
There is also a RO water treatment plant attached with the unit having capacity to treat 300 liters of water in a day.
Khandu after inaugurating the unit, assured that he would accord all necessary help to the unit to function smoothly.
The unit would be free of cost and will cover two districts of Tawang and West Kameng.
As of date, 27 patients died of renal failure and lack of dialysis unit in Tawang alone, informed Medical Officer for NCD Dr Sangey Thinley of the district hospital.
Later Khandu visited various wards of the hospital and meet the patients and wished them for their early recovery, the communiqué added.
