Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Satya Gopal asks to focus on children, arresting school dropout

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Satya Gopal outlined empowerment of children and ways to arrest school dropouts as the major focus areas before the Education Department of the State in the Executive Committee Meeting and State Level Steering Committee-cum-Monitoring Committee Meeting of the Education Department held here on Tuesday.

“Children should be empowered through our education system. Besides normal school study routine, emphasis should be given to imparting training in skill development and computer education,” he said. The CS, however, asked the Education Department to identify the factors behind school dropouts. Our objective should be to provide the best education and ensure that we are ahead of the national average of National Achievement Survey, he told the members present in the meeting.

We still have a long way to go, he said. To see the desired result, he said that all officers should concentrate on work in a time- bound manner. Stating that awareness of teachers is of utmost importance, Satya Gopal said he not only supports the idea of customized training for heads of GHSS and GSS, but also feels the need for training to PGTs and TGTs.
