ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Monday questioned the BJP-led Central and State Governments for being mute spectators to the abduction of 17-years-old youth from Upper Siang district.

Addressing the media, APCC spokesperson Zirgi Kadu stated, "If the incident would have occurred in other parts of India, then it would have been a national talk, but surprisingly the BJP-led Central Government is neglecting the Arunachal. As per media reports, the Chinese PLA has confirmed about the boy being in their territory, and the Indian Government should ensure his safe return before Republic Day.

"We may be against the BJP in terms of policy or party, but we believe that they will take action fast so that the family members would get relief. Similarly, we have full trust in our Indian Army, that they will take an immediate course of action for the safe return of the boy," added the spokesperson. Further, the APCC also urged the Central and State Governments to take strong measures to protect the territory of India, especially in border areas, so that no such action would be repeated or any other person would illegally intrude into the Indian soil.
