ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) organized a padyatara (foot march), as a part of its nationwide campaign –'Jan Jagran Abhiyan'– against the inflation of essential commodities under BJP-led Central Government, at Sagalee here on Monday.

The foot march that started from the residence of former Chief Minister and incumbent MLA of Sagalee constituency, Nabam Tuki culminated at Rach-Tabio village. Hundreds of Congress workers and its office bearers participated in the foot march being organized by the Block Congress Committee-Sagalee.

Addressing the gathering, Tuki stated that the padyatra was part of a nationwide campaign of the Congress party to create awareness amongst the common public about the unparallel inflation of every commodity under the BJP-led Central Government.

"The voice of the public should be heard by the ruling government, we will raise our voice both inside and outside the Parliament for the sake of common people," Tuki said, while adding that the common public was frustrated, especially the youths. He said the BJP government had made only false promises like a hike in GDP, to create crores of jobs for youths, free LPGs, but in reality there is no mechanism in the government to fulfil these promises. Crores of youths are unemployed, GDP is down, and prices of commodities are skyrocketing, he added.

Tuki also opined that, BJP was selling public properties built by the Congress government, instead of preserving and utilizing them to generate jobs and boost the economy of the country. He further suggested the BJP-led State government to focus more on the issues of the common people.
