ITANAGAR: With the detection of 135 new cases — inclulding eight security personnel and two Healthcare workers — across Arunachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours, the State's COVID-19 tally rose to 7,385 on Monday. Barring 21, all are asymptomatic and have been shifted to COVID Care Centres, informed Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa.

Arunachal Pradesh now has 1,964 active coronavirus cases. The recovery rate among the COVID-19 patients in the State stands at 73.22 per cent. Altogether 5,408 people have recovered from the disease. The toll due to the infection stands at 13.

Of the fresh cases, the Capital Complex region reported 69 cases, followed by West Kameng (180), West Siang (14), Papumpare (nine), Longding (six); three cases each from Leparada, East Kameng, Lower Siang and Pakke Kessang; two each from Changlang and Tirap; and one case each from Tawang, Lower Dibang Valley and Kurung Kumey districts. Among the new patients are eight security personnel including seven Army men and one personnel of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn).

Of the cured patients discharged from hospitals on Sunday are 45 from the Capital Complex region; 20 from East Siang; 14 from Papumpare; 11 from Lower Subansiri; 10 from Lower Dibang Valley; six each from Upper Siang and Changlang, five from Leparada; four from Lower Siang; three from Kurung Kumey; two from Lohit; and one each from Tirap, East Kameng and Longding.

Meanwhile, 129 people have been cured of the ailment and discharged on Monday, taking the number of such cured persons to 2,515 since September 1. A total of 3,275 people, including 461 security personnel, have been diagnosed with the disease during this month. The Capital Complex region — comprising the areas of Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa — has the maximum number of 779 active COVID-19 cases, followed by Papumpare (204); West Siang (196); Changlang (130); and East Siang (108).

So far, the State has tested 2,22,429 samples for the virus, including 1,723 on Sunday, added Dr Jampa.
