Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta on Monday inspected various completed and ongoing projects in West Siang district. The chief secretary, who was accompanied by Urban Development & Housing commissioner Vivek Panday, inspected the garbage dumping ground at Hissam near Aalo, the district headquarters. He also visited the health and wellness centre at Darka village and inspected the ongoing construction of a mini secretariat here. The chief secretary also took part in a tree plantation programme under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ at Nehru Chowk. Later, Gupta and Panday attended a review meeting, an official communiqué informed here.
Addressing senior district officials, Gupta urged the West Siang district administration to organize drug awareness campaigns in schools and colleges of the district. He praised the work culture of the officers of the district headed by deputy commissioner Mamu Hage.
Panday assured the UD department of help in proper management of garbage of Aalo township.
Earlier, DC Mamu Hage highlighted the huge potential of the district in agriculture, horticulture and tourism activities. She also highlighted the progress of various ongoing major projects in the district. Senior Superintendent of Police Tumme Amo also spoke and highlighted the night patrolling carried out by police to check illegal activities especially drug peddling during night hours. Aalo additional deputy commissioner Mabi Taipodia Jini, Kamba ADC Tamo Riba, and HoDs attended the meeting.
