Arunachal Pradesh government to provide cash relief of Rs 2,000 to unorganized workers

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh government in a major decision has decided to provide cash relief of Rs 2,000 per worker for two months to all non-government and unorganized workers registered with the Arunachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APBCWWB).

The decision would bring succour to thousands of construction workers working under the unorganised sector of the State, who have been hard-hit by the 21-day lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic, a government official informed here on Wednesday.

Each worker would get an amount of Rs 2000 per month for the months of April and May as cash relief, APBCWWB secretary Jalley Sonam said. An order to this effect was issued by Sonam on Late Tuesday evening.
