Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra extends Boori Boot Yullo greetings

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra on Sunday extended his greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Boori Boot Yullo. In his message to the people, the governor said, "On the auspicious occasion of Boori Boot Yullo, I extend my heartiest greetings to the people of the state particularly, my Nyishi brethren. I hope that the festivity associated with this festival will usher in peace, prosperity and happiness". He said that festivals are an important part of one's life and as an agrarian community, most of the festivals in the state are associated with agriculture, adding that the observance of the festivals not only brings the community members together but also helps in carrying forward the age-old cultural heritage of the people. "Let us be proud of our rich customs and traditions and also be proud of our cultural ethos", the Governor said and urged upon the younger generations to take active part in the celebration of the festivals to keep linked to their roots. "On the festive day, I join my Arunachali brethren in their prayers to invoke the spirit of Boori Boot Yullo to bless each one of us with happy future and good health", Mishra added.
