Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra stresses on ‘Nation Building’ activity of National Cadet Corps
Itanagar, July 24: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra today stressed on the need for taking up activities under National Cadet Corps (NCC) programmes with more thrust towards ‘Nation Building’, involving larger number of students in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During a meeting with NCC Additional Director General (North East) Major General Raju Chauhan who, called on the Governor at Raj Bhawan here, Dr Mishra suggested for promotion of NCC in different educational institutions of the state, an official release informed.
Our cadets must have the opportunities of attending the regular NCC trainings and take ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificate examinations of NCC and work hard to get selected for the Republic Day parade, the “governor said. He said that there must be NCC unit in all the district headquarters of the state and maximum number of eligible students must enrol for the training.
Mishra, who graced the prize distribution ceremony of the Combined Annual Training Camp of NCC for the cadets of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam at Dera Natung College here recently, further added that the students of Arunachal Pradesh have huge potential. “With proper guidance and motivation, they can excel in many fields. They can make very good officers in our Armed Forces and be asset to the nation. They can be role model for the youth of the North-Eastern Region,” he said. The governor requested the officers to prepare a time bound plan to start the second Arunachal Pradesh battalion of NCC, which is sanctioned for Tawang district.
On the issue of the academic losses to the cadets in their final months of the academic session due to participation in Republic Day NCC camp, the governor proposed for conducting the All India NCC camp at Delhi in the month of August to coincide with the Independence Day celebration.
