Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday extended their warm greetings to the children of the state on the occasion of Children’s Day, the birth anniversary of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru. In his message, the governor said that the children arrive in this world in most tender and vulnerable shape and size and continue to remain exclusively dependent for their growth, life sustenance and physical well being on parents, care takers and the society at large.

“Celebrating Children’s Day, therefore, is about giving every child, his or her right to grow into a happy, healthy and educated citizen of the country. This special occasion, therefore, should motivate every parent, guardian and the nation to provide all possible opportunities to the children to grow with dignity,” the governor said.

“For our children’s ‘tomorrow’, let us give our ‘today’”, the Governor appealed.

Khandu in his message said that children are the future of the country and their moral and educational standards determine the progress of a nation. The welfare of the children is a national priority.

“It is our prime duty to provide our children quality education and best upbringing to secure a successful future for them and for ourselves,” Khandu said.
