ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik has conveyed his warm greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. In his message, the governor said that Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, is revered for his profound teachings that emphasize spiritualism, justice, and humanism, a Raj Bhavan communique` said. "His messages of love, amity, and equality have left an enduring impact on the cultural and ethical landscape of society," he said.

The governor said Guru Nanak Ji's teachings provide a timeless guide for individuals seeking a path of righteousness and virtue. "This concept is enshrined in the Sikh scripture, Guru Granth Sahib, which contains the teachings of Guru Nanak Ji and also other Sikh Gurus," Parnaik said, in the communique`. The emphasis on purity of mind, earning an honest living, and selfless service reflects Guru Nanak Ji's commitment to ethical conduct and a life of righteousness. These principles, known as Naam Japna (remembering the divine), Kirat Karni (earning an honest living), and Vand Chakna (selfless service), are integral to Sikh ethics and guide followers in leading a life of purpose and moral uprightness, he said. "May this occasion inspire everyone to follow the ideals of Guru Nanak Dev ji," the governor wished in his message.
