ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Mama Natung on Saturday reaffirmed the state government's commitment to strengthening grassroots policing and ensuring quicker response to public needs. Inaugurating the newly constructed Police Station at Old Ziro in Lower Subansiri district, Natung appreciated the Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) for their round-the-clock service in maintaining law and order. He called upon the people of Ziro Valley to collectively strive to make the region crime and drug free, highlighting the intellectual legacy of the Apatani community, an official statement informed here. Assuring prompt action on the demands raised, the minister committed to fulfilling all points in the submitted memorandum within two years. He also revealed that the government has already sanctioned funds for the construction of a fire station in the area. “I urge the local MLA and the deputy commissioner to expedite the land acquisition process so that the dream of a full-fledged fire station in the valley is realised at the earliest,” he added.
