Arunachal Pradesh Inks MoUs With NGOs To Boost Education Sector

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Education Department has inked memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with reputed national NGOs to bring improvement in State’s school education system.

The department recently signed a MoU with Lend A-Hand India for providing project management support for quality implementation of centrally sponsored scheme of vocationalization of government higher secondary schools, an official release informed here on Thursday. The department also inked another MoU with Sri Aurobindo Society for undertaking various education programmes like zero investment innovation for education initiatives (ZIIEI) and project inclusion (comprehensive mental health education). The NGOs would be working in partnership with the State Government in the education sector without any financial involvement with zero investment and innovative initiatives, the release said.

The block and field level education officers, principals and teachers would be trained under ZIIEI for implementation on areas of innovations, like scholastic process, co-scholastic process and outcome.

The MoU was signed by Deputy State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Nangram Pingkap on behalf of the State Government and head of operation Mayank Agarwal on behalf of Sri Aurobindo Society in presence of Education Minister Taba Tedir and education secretary Dr Madhu Rani Teotia.

The department also signed a MoU with UNISED for setting up of science clubs in 100 elementary level schools for making science and mathematics subjects more interesting by using available technology, the release added.
